Audi A3 Design & Performance

The upscale Audi A3 features a longer, taller, and wider body than its previous generation. It comes with a coupe-like roofline featuring a moonroof as standard and an optional sunroof. At the front, it has a large honeycomb grille equipped with built-in ducts and active elements for brake cooling.

The new A3 model features an upgraded headlamp design consisting of a pixel array with 15 LED segments and dynamic turn signals on the rear. It also features similar aesthetics to the A6 tail lamp design, a refined larger boot, and an elegant bumper with concealed tailpipes.

The new Audi A3 draws power from an inline-four 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that generates 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, the new powertrain comes equipped with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system which contributes more horsepower and torque, aiming to remove the turbo lag.

The A3 comes with Audi's seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which shifts smoothly for a fantastic ride around Brentwood, CA. The FWD with MHS assistance offers an EPA-estimated 29 mpg city and 38 mpg highway; the all-wheel-drive has a 28 mpg city and 36 mpg highway rating.

Audi A3 Technology Features

The new model comes with a standard 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster display is standard with an optional 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit for the mid-tier trims. Still, it comes as standard in the upper trim level alongside navigation and head-up display. It also features Google Earth imagery, among other features to enhance your commutes around Culver City.

The base trims have eight-way power-adjustable front seats and front seat heating, tri-zone climate control, and replaced the dial center console with traditional icons to access available functions. Optional features available in higher trim models include a 680-watt Bang and Olufsen 3D sound system, which comes with 15 speakers.

Driver assistance technology comes heavily featured on the new Audi A3 with standard specs including automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, Audi pre-sense basic to prepare the car for an imminent accident, and pre-sense front for an audible danger warning.

It also includes lane departure warning, cruise control, high beam assist, traction and stability control, 10 airbags, ABS, a rearview camera, and collision avoidance assist, among others, to ensure a safe drive while cruising through Westwood.
